Is it possible that after sanding a small area of a stained mahogany floor with a high gloss poly finish to blend in the stain onto the sanded area? I have tried but it wont get as dark and you can readily see the sanded area through the poly. Help please

    this depends on how old the original stain coat was...if it was several years old, it isn't going to ever match exactly. The only thing you can do is to re-sand the area and go back on it with a little darker stain to get a closer match to the original. I would try a test spot somewhere under your furniture to find out the color stain you'll need
