Rechargeable batteries have less energy in them per battery size than their disposable cousins, so they won't last as long in us - I have experienced a 3:1 difference in some of my kit. The advantage is that they can be recharged many times, so that is the trade-off.

Also lithium rechargeable batteries gradually reduce in capacity with age and use (max. of about 3-5 years) so the older or more heavily used the device, the shorter its run time will be.
