Help answer this question below.
There are only 50 states and D.C is not one of them.
Neither. It's a separate entity with it's own political representation. Washington DC was originally made of of land donated by Virginia and Maryland. Virginia has since reincorporated it's portion (Alexandria), but Maryland has yet to do so. Many feel that this residential portion should go back to Maryland and that no residences should be allowed in DC. Others feel that this very small piece of real estate should have all the power of a full blown state.
Washington is neither a state or a part of Maryland. It is a district. DC stands for district of Columbia. It is right outside Maryland and people might think it is part of the state, but that would be incorrect. Also, if you go through the fifty states, you will not find Washington DC on that list. I hope I helped. (I live in Maryland)
Washington, District of Columbia, is a federal district, not a state nor part of a state. It has its own representative in Congress, and its own Mayor. It is overseen by Congress.
Neither. It's a district. :-)
What does it mean when people say that Washington D C should have all of the power as other states?
