Months ago my partner in a one-off follie stole stuff from a big supermarket , hiding them under her bag in the shopping trolley, while using her credit card to pay for the rest of the things.Can they find her and charge her after all this time?

    Theft is theft, and if you were present at the time and knew what was being done and said nothing, you are equally guilty.
    I take it that "a one-off follie" is an expression similar to "just for kicks."
    Losses from theft are a penalty honest people pay for as that loss is figured into the shelf prices.

    It seems to me if they didn't nab her right away, they are not going to. However if they have video surveillence of the place and they noticed what she did, she could be asked to leave the store next time she comes in. This though is probably unlikely. If she feels true remorse, I do like the idea of paying for or giving back the items.

    if it was months ago they wouldn't go out of their way to find your friend, but they would be grateful if someone turned them in or even let them know. The consequences wouldn't be that rough either they would probably just ban your friend and if they did it again, then they would take legal action. (That's in Canada BTW)
