My husband has been playing for 26 years... his two favourite acoustics are a Guild 12 string and an Ovation Celebrity. The "best guitar" is very often a matter of personal preference. For example - some people don't like Ovation at ALL because of the rounded back. My husband finds it more comfortable. To get a good guitar on a budget, check out Craig's List. Money's tight these days - it seems like EVERYONE is selling their instruments (Heck, my hubby has three listed right now! Even his 1976 Gibson Explorer!)

Ok, in my opinion here's the list. Lefties can be a bit pricier than the righties. I listed the Ibanez's first because I feel that they are of better quality, have better necks and produce better tone. Really though, ya gotta get to the store and play them. Good luck! 1.Ibanez AW30LECENT $320.00 2.Ibanez EW20AS $430.00 3.Ibanez AEL10LE $330.00 4.Alvarez RD20SCL 5.Washburn D10SCELH $440.00 6.Fender CD100LH $230.00

Fender makes very good electric guitars but to me their acoustics lack something to be desired. For someone who has already moved from beginner to someone who at least has learned how to play a couple of songs or parts of songs I believe you should buy something that will help you play better. Believe it or not a better guitar can enable you to play quite a bit better. My recommendation would be Epiphone Masterbuilt series which have some models that cost under $500.00 . Also Takamenie guitars are excellent. They have severl around $350.00 that are very nice. Seagull have fine guitars that are affordable also.
