  • Yes, I have and yes I did.
  • Yes I did. I needed to get back my deposit.
  • Darned right! Was I going to blow off that deposit? I could not afford to! It was my gas money home!
  • Yes I did, and you bet!
  • Yes & No My roommate & I left all our furniture in it, both of us were planning on buying all new furniture and it was cheaper just to leave it & forfeit the Sec. Dep than to rent a truck & figure out where to dispose of it.
  • The last apartment I rented was a PIG STY when I moved in! Before I unpacked one box, my ex, our daughter and I HAD TO scrub everything! When I moved-out 20 months later, I received a call from the landlord. He wanted to know "What cleaning service" I used to get the place so clean? LOL! When I told him I did my own cleaning and move-out, he said to me: "Ron, I've been in the business A LONG TIME. I NEVER saw an apartment so clean! The ONLY thing we have to do is put a refresher coat of paint in the bedroom." I said, "John, I told you when I moved-in you would never have any trouble from me. I KNOW what you wanted and I KNEW what to do and how to do it: You wanted the rent on-time or ahead of time - every month, without any excuses. You wanted the place properly taken care of according to the terms of the lease. You wanted proper notice when I decided to move-out. You wanted the place clean. With the exception of one month when I missed the bank by 5 minutes and I included the late charge, you got everything you wanted. Due to the fact I gave you a list of everything wrong with that property when I moved-in, I expect you'll send me my security deposit to the address I gave you in my notice." His last words to me, "Any time you need a place, all you have to do is call me. I'll make sure I have something for you as soon as I can." THE NEXT DAY, there was the check for the security deposit. • Yes. Always. I am not a jerk.
  • Every place I ever left: I left spotless.
  • Always. I don't want the people moving in to think I was a slut! I may have been all the time I was there, but they don't need to know that! LOL ;p
  • Yes Of course, one has to do this for curtsy. Why others should clean out my left overs :)
  • I always cleaned before moving out.
  • Yes, I've always cleaned it very well. I didn't want to forfeit the security deposit.
  • Yes I always cleaned it i couldnt live knowing someone else is cleaning up my mess
  • Yes. I've always cleaned every place that I lived, before I left it, no matter where it was.:)
  • Always have done a good job, no sense forfeiting my security deposit and getting a black mark for future references.
  • My ex and I did. Many times we left it in better shape than we got it. I don't recall even one time we didn't get our security deposit back. (There was once when they went in before we were done, and tossed a bunch of our stuff - they SAID - but even then, I think we got our SD back.) My dad owned apartments in Lafayette. You have NO IDEA how much it costs to clean and repair one with pets, where the owner didn't care (or clean up) when they did their stuff in the place; Or left a LOT of trash; or broke things and didn't get them fixed; or... And you WONDER why some apartment owners/managers keep security deposits.
