You can pursue personal growth without abandoning the lessons from your "loss of innocence." Let your experience lead you to positive lessons and better decisions. An inner child may be fun to consult, but you will be living in a world filled with adults, so I'd be pursuing strategy for success books, etc. They will replace any hurt you feel from loss of innocence. There is more to your question than you reveal. Reading between the lines you seem to be suffering some guilt or remorse from some action in the past. If this is true, if you judge it to be appropriate, healing will come thru trying to "repair" any damage done to others, or by serving others in a loving manner. Not to be trite, but if this is true for you, you need to do something to "balance your kharma." The good you do will come back to you in abundance.

FROM SHULTZ'S INNER ADULT: "Restrict him!!! Keep your inner child off-limits from some of the things you do!! I'll give you one example: Answerbag! You've let your inner child ask some of the questions for you, and it couldn't have been at a worse time, considering that he reacted to Bob Blaylock's comments recently. Here, everyone knows you're an adult so you have an adult reputation to uphold! You've let your recently-dormant child-in-you damage some of it today, but I believe you can restore it back to the way it was. Remember not to stoop to Bob's level when he sends provoking comments your way; react like a gentleman and keep a cool, tactful head. You probably already knew this but that kid right there drowned out your own mature advice. Reserve him for somewhere off site, like Neopets, for one, and some video games, whatever you'd know is more appropriate for him. Answerbag is serious business, so it's not for the boy!" From me: Thanks, sir. I guess an inner-child DEPRIVES one of inner peace when it's allowed to control the wrong things. I suppose that in any circumstance, I could let him control me when you are present. From my inner adult: "Yeah, I'll stay on this rash schoolboy like a hawk!!"
