  • Jeans do not have any problem, they are just a normal clothing for women. Upskirts would have problem, but they would also be the dream of every male student, LOL !
  • Teachers should be allowed to wear jeans to school. At my school, jeans are forbidden for students. They are the faculty and should be able to wear whatever he/she wants.
  • Sure, some teaching jobs are really messy, like primary grades where you need to sit on the floor, and art or shop. That doesn't mean that teachers shouldn't have a certain standard of professionalism in their dress. You can still wear a nice blouse or a shirt and tie with jeans.
  • Yes i cant see a problem with them, it not like a really short skirt or anything as long as they dont turn up looking scruffy or too sexy.
  • I think they should be allowed form time to time, but I think if alot of teachers dressed more professionally students would be less likely to hit on them or atleast would see them as a bit older than they actually are which may reduce the amount of teachers who have relations with students. I think they should atleast dress up for most of the week, too many times I've mistaken the teachers for students (they dont get as much respect when they dress like students, atleast from what I've seen).
  • why not?
  • G'day Mrs T Thank you for your question. It depends on the schools rules. If students wear jeans I can't see why teachers can't. If students wear uniforms, teachers should dress more formally as well. Regards
  • Yes. First off, teachers are normal people so they should be able to dress normally. Second, being overly dressed can actually cause one to LOSE respect. If someone showed up in my workplace in a suit, I would assume they were a moron who never did a day of work in their life; someone SO unlike me that I couldn't respect them. Third, not all teachers have clean jobs anyways. Art, Forestry, Chemistry, Physics... there are MANY classes where jeans are more practical than something that'll get trashed after a signle wearing.
  • considering teachers stand on their feet at least 4-5 hours a day or more if they dress up, often have to wear "dressy type shoes" which get very uncomfortable when standing up that long. I have no problem with teachers and jeans. the more comfortable they are, the better they are at teaching students. I do think they need to be within reason..not too tight , not worn out and the shirt should be professional.
  • I don't see why a teacher shouldn't be allowed to wear blue jeans, as long as they are neat and clean. I don't see why a teacher shouldn't be allowed to dress comfortably. I work in an office that is 'business casual'. I have not seen an issue with anyone abusing the priveledge of this dress code.
  • Err.. of course, why shouldn't they? I'm serious, what's wrong with jeans? I don't get it
  • I think everyone should be allowed to wear jeans to work.
  • I know that some religions require women to wear a dress rather than pants but i see no problem with it
  • Absolutely. The more comfortable I am, the better I can teach.
  • At school you teach children to accept others and how people may look different also how someone looks isn't a reflection to if they are good bad etc... If this is the case not letting teachers wear jeans is hypocritical because you are judging someones ability of being a good bad teacher by the clothes they are wearing.
  • Yes. Very many of them can already do.
  • I think that teachers should be able to wear whatever they want as long as it's not offensive or showing too much skin.
