I let my six year old taste wines and beer, but not liquor. Although, she has had many, many Pina Coladas sans rum.
We never drank alcohol, not when the kids were little and not now. I did used to have sips of my dad's beer when I was small. I think I only liked it because it was his:) He liked it though!!! Oh, no I wouldn't give any kid a sip, not nowadays anyway..You'd be in jail:)
My dad let me sip his beer when I was young and boy, I HATED it! That's why I don't drink except on rare occasions, when I do it's one glass of a mixed drink.
Yep, make them grow up hating it ;)
I hated the smell of wine whenever my parents drank it and still do.
My parents did it with me and I know how both I and my brother turned out and most kids with European parents, and how we usually don't treat alcohol as anything special other than something tasty to drink. I think that's much healthier than setting it up as some special thing that only adults can do or else.
If they just want to taste it, maybe. Small children can be poisoned by small amounts, but not a mere sip. My Dad let me have the first and last sip of his beers when I was a kid. And yet I think I drink the least of all my friends and family.
If it's treated like a momentous important thing and shunned completely I believe it leads to abuse later on.
It's the whole pregnant preachers daughter syndrome.
Moderation... and in a child's case extreme moderation - but moderation none the less.
yep. mom did it to me and it made me not wanna drink alcohol again. i guess i was one of the lucky ones that didn't get addicted.
YES they need drinking experience before going off to college, you should buy them as much alcohol as possible too.
Id advise wine, because a little bit of wine is healthy for you. Not alot, just a bit. =]
Just remember to wipe the glass after they've drunk out of it...
I dont see why not. I think if they were curious, I would let them have a sip
No never.

Why do I drink U.S. domestic beer? Well, I am pulling for the home
team. But I can't think of any other reason. Except quantity.

And that's where they'll stay! August 2nd - Let the trash talk begin!!!
I hope you guys have a great season so the SEC can own OSU in the BSC Championship again.
by Someguy on August 2nd, 2008
Yeah Yeah, well we will all see, so far, the game of the year is September 13th, USC vs OSU, basically just pencil in the winner of that game in the BCS championship
by caffey4 on August 2nd, 2008
Isn't that the truth. What is the payout for OSU? Must be huge!
There is no need for a season to be over (no championship hopes) after day 1.
Seriously, though, if UGA gets through their schedule with one loss, they deserve a BCS championship slot.
by Someguy on August 2nd, 2008
For sure on that one, their schedule is tough as nails this year. Good luck
