be very careful. go ahead and write but do not send money or accept any gifts or do any 'favors' for them. and don't give your phone number.

Big mistake. I wrote to a death row inmate, Shannon Agofsky and was totally "played". Once I started to notice his manipulations and deception I could take a step back and realize how he had been lying to me all along-even about stupid small stuff. For me this was the first and only time, and the last, that I will put my friendship and support out there to a convict. Maybe not all of them are bad but it just isn't worth the gamble and the time and effort it takes to weed through the bad ones to get to a decent on. There are lots of people in this world that need love and support that HAVEN'T made decisions that put them on death row!

I would not give your real address, but I see no harm in it as long as you dont get sucked into his pleases of innocence.

Bitterfly, can you get in touch with me please?? I know this an old subject, regarding writing to prisoners, but I have had some terrible experiences, and I wish to share and see how others have come out, with good stuff to say or bad stuff. This Shannon Agofsky one is an idiot I wrote to before, and it appears I was writing to him at the same time as Bitterfly was, in 2008! I feel like such an idiot myself, and I won't write to another person in jail or prison. But,anyway, Bitterfly, if you read this, or anyone else who has written to Shannon Agofsky, please get in touch with me. I don't mind putting my e-mail out here: DebbieWith7@aol.com

Laughing at the women who think they're "the only one's" a prisoner is writing to. They write to whomever will respond, they'll tell you things you want to hear, and if you're gullible? They get you to do things you ordinarily would not do. You don't have "terrible experiences" with inmates unless you create the "terrible situation" by believing every word they say. Get a grip! You don't look for love behind 4 walls ladies, you look for it within yourself first ;)
