What is the deal with all the anti-American rhetoric on this site? Do you realize that you wouldn't even be on the internet without us?

I sometimes wonder if I am on the same site as the rest of you - the other day someone was asking about the high level of racism; I haven't noticed that or an abundance of anti-American rhetoric - where is it and why am I missing it?

Oh man... Being "anti-american" is what is so great about america. You love it or leave it typpes need to understand that. I dont see any Anti American Rhetoric, what I see is ANTI Republican Rhetoric, which doesnt make you anti american, it says to me you are paying attention. The internet would still exist without the US, while it was invented by the US miltary it was the japanese who popularized it.

What Anti American Rhetoric.? I have never noticed any . You are bound in any mixed community to have people that have diverse views, that does not mean they are Anti just have a different point of view. Most of the feelings against the American government seem to come from Americans themselves. I do not think the whole American race can take credit for the internet.

u think there would be no internet without america? well...the concept of 0's was invented in the middle east (egypt?) without 0's you couldn't write the only language computers understand hence, you wouldnt have computers... :/ but thats not true, cuz if egypt didnt invent a zero, someone else would same goes for the internet & america... I hate blind patriotism.

Frankly I don't see that many, although to be fair, I don't participate much on political categories or issues on AB. In my opinion, a condescending attitude like that doesn't help your cause.

i haven't read any notes that were anti-internet. why is it that when someone says something against our beliefs, we call it rhetoric? i guess it goes back to that old saying that your terrorist is my freedom fighter. i'm grateful to all the americans, nerds, geeks, kooks, and others who have made significant contributions to the internet. thanks!
