I could mean that the previous owners owned 2 or more lots..and the septic tank is now on another lot that no longer belongs to the owner/seller...be careful cuz it could turn expensive: you will need to find out the location,if location is outside the lot you are buying find out if owner of septic land will give you an easement to gain acces to the system..if this is not avaible to you....find out the cost and regulations, sometimes the septic must be soo many yards from the dwelling..and if you have a small lot the city will need to investigate and give you a special permit to built another one..that could be time consuming and costly.. good luck to you
