  • Nothing could make me more nervous than a knife wielding manic on a Greyhound bus decapitating someone. So now I guess bus passengers are going to be searched for weapons, and maybe a Marshall placed on each bus.
  • No, it just makes me more suspicious of all the possible nuts out there! And I'm going to be a little more conscious of my head from now on when I get on any public transport. No one is going to cut my head off! Lol.
  • NO. It makes me sad that the passengers didn't have the balls to take this knife wielding maniac out. Really. What the hell? Nobody did anything? Truly a sad day.
  • when was this? what are the details?
  • No, it makes me pissed at the humankind.
  • decapitated? is this accurate?
  • I've see people killed in car accidents more than once. I still drive and ride in a car. The chance of this happening to me on a bus is a lot more remote than being killed in a car accident. No. I will use public transportation when needed.
  • Yeah, in Canada.
  • No millions of people use public transport every day. This is one instance of a dreadful horrific event. It is the same thing as one plane crash does not stop us flying because we know that millions of people fly safely every year.
  • More at ctv news winnipeg.ca..very sick person to do this first time in Canadian history anything like this has happened.
  • Makes me kinda sad really..I mean the guy was stabbing this person and the driver and passengers did nothing more than get off of the bus and block the door to keep the killer in the bus? No one thought to try and stop this? That is the scary part..just sad..
  • I've heard more than one story of a person being decapitated and this one scare the sh&* out of me. (pardon the cursing and the language) Yes this story does make me nervous about using public transportation... I carry a knife in my purse in case something do happen. Is there a connection between the maniac and the victim?
  • How do you decaptiate anyone on a bus? Did he have an axe with him?
  • Canada clearly states what kind or people it prefers to intake (see immigration statistics). It's time to chew on mistakes.
  • No, but I am far more weary of my fellow human beings now :)
  • No, because next time I'm traveling with the New England Revolution soccer team! http://www.newser.com/story/32861/new-england-soccer-team-subdues-passenger.html
  • Yes. I agree that the chances are slim that one will have a serious problem, but I rode public transport for years in Houston, TX. It was not a happy experience; the buses are full of undesirable characters who affront you, albeit not hostilely, and otherwise abuse you with loud foul language, body odor, bad breath, uncleanliness, fat bodies that squish you into the wall, etc. Gross! Houston takes great pride in an inept rail system. Actually it is just a free ride for the undesirables alluded to above; tickets are rarely checked so the fare system is abused. I have seen what looked like blood, vomit, fecal matter, rotten food, ... in the coaches. Granted Houston got a lot of Ktrina refugees from New Orleans; one of the nastiest, ungodly cities I've ever visited (that was before Katrina).
  • Wow, what a story! I'm not any more nervous about public transit, clearly this was an isolated event, not some new decapitation trend on buses. Some thoughts provoked by the article: - The passengers hung around outside the bus on an isolated stretch of highway after the event, blocking the doors. Later, when the cops showed up, the killer broke a window and tried to escape. Seems like the time to break for the woods is BEFORE the cops show up, yes? So this guy is stupid in addition to being crazy. - When the killer tried to drive away with the bus, the bus driver disabled the vehicle. Note to self: take the keys when fleeing bus. - The blood-curdling scream that announced the start of this murder was followed by lots of stabbing at the back of the bus with a "Rambo-style" knife... that's a big knife, with a crazed maniac at the handle, in the back of the bus. It's understandable that the passengers fled the scene. It would have been nice if there were a hero to step up to the challenge of taking down the attacker, but I don't think we can fault the passengers for being terrified.
  • Makes me nervous about my next trip to Canada. Those Canadians are KANUTS ;)
  • Not really. Almost anything can happen to you where ever you are. If I worried about everything that happend, I wouldn't ever leave my house...which someone could break into and kill me.
  • No, I am not nervous at all. That is why I alwats travel Trailways, less chance of being decapitated.
  • You never know how one would react in a situation like this, but I'm sure I would do my best to help save the person and try to stop the assault, and call for the assistance of 2 or 3 other men to assist me. Sure I'd be scared but I know I wouldn't run away. I was recently attacked my a man with a knife in Seattle. The first thing that happens is the adrenaline kicks in and you are on autopilot. There is no time for fear while fighting for your life. Fortunately, I was able to disarm him and he ran away and no one was hurt. Afterwards, fear kicked in as I was scared to death when I looked down at my chest and saw blood, but fortunately it wasn't mine, only the assailant's blood from his nose. All this over the theft of my cell phone, how foolish! I don't see how anyone could just stand by and let someone be murdered before their very eyes and turn their backs and run away. If someone was trying to kill you, you'd want someone to help you I'm sure. I don't expect the women on the bus to get involved but this was a very cowardly act of all the men that ran away. Thank God we still have a few heroes in everyday life like the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, who bravely overpowered the terrorists causing the plane to crash over remote Shanksville, Pennsylvania instead of the White House or Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. I will not condemn the lack of bravery of all Canadians by the cowardly actions of a few. It was a blessing that the brave truck driver came along when he did or many others could have been killed.
  • No. What makes me nervous is that the passengers didn't come to his aid! How can a doomed plane full of people attack a terrorist, but a bus full of people cannot? Now THAT is scary.
  • I use public transportation every day, and no it don't scare me.
