  • U may not even have plug wires, I don't on our 2003 Trailblazer! Coil sits right on plugs. They can be tested with an Ohm Meter & Hypot Tester which U won't have. At night (READ DARK) start car & look under hood for "Fireworks"! Have a "Ticking" in the AM Radio? Bad Wires! Remove the plugs & look at them. The center electrode's "corners" should not be "Rounder" rather "Square Cut" & Sharp promoting good "Spark". Color should be "Tan" with no "Black" & no "Oil". If "White, they are too "Hot". Use Iridium Plugs & 10 mm. wires (if they fit)& they should last 1000,000 miles. John
  • newer cars will tell you if a cylinder is misfiring. the check engine light will come on.
