  • When your engine is cold, check the water level in the radiator - DO NOT REMOVE THE RADIATOR CAP WHEN ENGINE IS HOT - If there is no water in the radiator then the engine will overheat. When the engine is running, the water pump turns and pumps the water around the engine. It comes out hot at the hose at the top of the radiator then travels down the radiator to the bottom hose where by now it is a bit cooler. The pump pushes the cooler water around the engine keeping it cool. When the water is hot it will travel over a smaller version of a radiator (usually in a very awkward place) and the blower motor will blow air across this smaller radiator warming you at leisure. So if there is no water in the radiator, the engine will overheat and there will be no heat either.
  • check your thermostats. I had the same prob in my metro. i just replaced the thermostat..prob solved.
