I have been told that the very BEST place to learn the art of locksmithing, is by working for a locksmith and learning your craft directly from him or her.

You can also learn it from your fellow inmates, should you ever find yourself incarcerated in a prison or jail.

When I worked at OCCC in Honolulu, Hawaii (in the 1980s), one of my fellow guards locked himself out of his car. He had a choice, regarding how to get inside his car. He could telephone a professional locksmith and pay around $50 for him/her to unlock his car, OR he could have a prison inmate get into his car for him, for free.

Which course of action do you believe he chose?
