  • My husband is gonna take me to the beach? Really? Hey if he can keep it concealed in his swim trunks.. more power to him.
  • I'm going to be a cop, so I'm going to have to take my gun everywhere.
  • Really safe.
  • That would make me very uncomfortable.
  • *shrug* Whatever makes him giddy as a schoolgirl, I guess. Can't really complain if it's legal and licensed.
  • If they handled it responsibly, I suppose I'd be happy for them that they'd found a new toy. If they actually started pulling it out and waving it around, then they'd just better hope it's good company, because it's all they'll have.
  • It wouldn't be a whole lot different than my circumstances now. My boyfriend has a lot of guns, but doesn't keep them loaded around people. But he does keep ammo nearby. So I doubt if he had a license to just take it anywhere loaded that he would. He'd probably take it around, but not load it. I don't really have "feelings" about it. I trust his ability to use it responsibly.
  • well... if my girlfriend had a license like that, she better be required by her employer to do so i dont want her to carry a gun around for no reason, or to feel tough or to think she needs protection
  • I guess if it's legal where you live to carry a loaded weapon, then more power to him. Safety first, right?
  • I would wonder why they feel it necessary to be packing heat everywhere. If you are going in a bad neighborhood, or he is serving subpoenas or repo-ing cars or something like that, maybe could understand it. Where does he feel the threat is coming from?? Is he a Sagittarius??
  • Awesome.
  • I really wouldn't be a big fan of it at all, and I bet it would start a big fight.
  • Happy because concealed carry laws are wonderful things and if she had one then I'm sure I would too!
  • Great. Not only locked and loaded but legal too.:)
  • I have a legal pistol permit to carry a concealed weapon in the state of New York. I never carry it with me, I don't have a reason to. Why would they carry a gun everyplace they go? I think it would be to easy for an accident to happen. The license that I have is for my weapon to be "concealed" at all times. Even if I wanted to carry my weapon to the beach, I don't think it would fit in my swimming trunks.lol Have a Great Day!!
  • This topic has come up before, but I am adamantly against having a gun--especially in the house. Even more so when we have children.
  • I'm a big believer in gun ownership rights. Sadly I have encountered many concealed permit holders and find them paranoid and eager to tell what they will do if the opportunity occurs. I happen to know what it is to kill. And that has haunted me for the past 42 years. And I had one guy that was a gun owner that thought he had the right to come into my house with his loaded concealed gun. I informed him he would unload it and present it to me for inspection. He again affirmed he had the right to enter with it loaded. So I let him know he would be eating his gun and gave him a kick down the walk way. And with that I now have the policy against concealed weapons. If you are unwilling to display you have it you should not be in possession.
  • My bf has a license to carry and he will take his 9mm with us if we are traveling late at night. You can never be too careful with the REAL sickos out there - a man that wants to protect himself & his lady isn't something to belittle.
  • I would find it quite embarrassing to be honest and my respect levels would plummet, like a lead balloon until the person finally became a complete pratt, in my eyes.

  • If i had a girlfriend who would go to the beach with me wearing a bikini and with a gun tied to her leg.. i would be scared...
  • I don't have a problem with the right to bear arms.Where do they put it when they go to the beach?:)
  • I have to mention, packing concealed into a business. I think I would have the person arrested for trespass. This person may have a permit. However did he have the curtesy to inform me he possessed a permit? NO! And, I would regard that person as an armed thug. I know quite a few vets. At the VA, not even the police carry guns. They know just how much some of the vets like to take them away. So the police keep the guns locked up and go with pepper spray. If they were to need the guns they will get them. I should add these same guys will bump into you if they suspect you are packing and take it away in a heartbeat. They enjoy that sort of thing. As for myself I had three events as a civilian where guns were used against me at contact range. Twice with handguns pressed to my ribs, once to my head. Two I disarmed. One panicked and ran after he pulled the trigger 4 times and it didn't fire. And it didn't fire because I know guns and did a little something to prevent it. All three spent some prison time as well. All three guns were also stolen. And one traced to a murder.
  • That person needs to be made aware of the fact that if they ever use that gun, they most likely will go to prison. Even if they point the gun at someone, they could get some prison time. That is the reason why i didn't renew my permit and don't carry mine anymore.
  • Actually, I have been thinking. If I can carry a concealed handgun with this license. Shouldn't a blind person or otherwise severely disabled that cannot use a handgun be allowed to carry a concealed fragmentation grenade or strap themselves with concealed dynamite for their personal protection? From observations most of these handgun carriers would have a hard time hitting the side of a barn from 10 feet. I on the other hand can shoot a 45 auto and from 50 feet group shots to be covered by a half dollar. Another reason I do not carry. I am accurate and all too deadly. And my combat experience would cancel hesitation. All these heroes that say what they would do and never actually faced a situation are delusional. Believe me on this one. Every combat situation I experienced failed to go with my imaginary scripts. And when someone else initiates the shooting, it certainly spoils my aim. I might even have a hard time hitting a barn at 10 feet then. Probably explains why I did so much better in Viet Nam when the enemy wasn't returning full auto fire and mortars.
  • I think I would feel like a bad ass...
  • One thing, at the very least. Anyone that possesses and carries a hand gun publicly, whether open or concealed should at the least also be required to cary a can of pepper spray. And as with myself, required to have $1 Million in insurance against death, injury or damage caused by my weapons. And mind you my insurance is utilized at home, gun ranges and hunting as I have never felt the need to carry otherwise. Well I have gone into stores armed going or returning from shooting, hunting and even fishing. Most don't know it but in Oregon we can carry concealed without a permit. Going to or from a shooting, hunting or fishing.

  • Remember if you carry concealed and that bulge noticed you will be regarded as an armed thug, especially by police. Remember store signs that say they have the right to refuse service, people without shoes or shirts will not be served? Do you feel an owner has less right to exclude a person packing a gun? Or does that gun present less a threat than a person going shirtless, shoeless or displaying bad manners? And law still stands I have the right to tell anyone to leave for any reason. And if they fail to leave that is trespass.
  • Thought I would add this. People always imagine what they would do if confronted and they had a gun. A parallel to this: Imagine you are driving down a highway, steering wheel in hand. A car suddenly veers into you and hits head on. You didn't even have time to react. Well that confrontation scenario will be just like that. Whatever will happen will come out of the blue, when you are most off guard and unprepared. I also read about the number of police officers killed yearly with firearms. About 5 to 1 they are killed with their own weapons as someone takes it away from them. The average permit holder should be very easy to take it away from.
  • Might be of interest that guns, any guns have long been prohibited in National Parks. Still some people have been known to carry, and usually concealed. According to the Head Ranger for the park system, not once in 50 years has a gun protected anyone from people or wildlife in a National Park. However he has often had cases of random and usually drunken shooting killing and damaging wildlife and causing other damage. Even a few campers being wounded. I ran into a black bear years ago. I awoke with the bear licking my forehead. I had a .357 in my sleeping bag. Choose not to use it though. Pulled back into the sleeping bag and remained still. The bear then went to a friends motorcycle and popped all the luggage areas, fairing before going to another camper's utility trailer. Overturning it and finding the prise he was looking for............a watermellon.
