How does an American working in the Republic of Ireland for a month or two apply for a driver's license there? How should one prepare for their required tests?

    As long as you're not taking up permanent residence then you can use your current license, providing it remains valid for the duration of your stay.

    The below website makes a good point. If your American license only covers automatic transmission then you will only be allowed to drive cars with automatic transmission while in Ireland.
