How many different types of chocolate are made in Switzerland?

    Rumor has it that there are over a hundred different types of Swiss chocolate. I've only had four or five, though. French chocolate is much better.

    It depends on what you mean... there are three major types, the black (lot of cacao), the brown and the white chocolate (lot of milk). With these basic compounds you can easily get hundreds and hundreds of different types of chocolate in Switzerland with a large variety of elements added... like coconut, walnut, etc, etc, etc...

    "French chocolate is much better" - this means you don't know the difference in chocolate fabrication. There is the "normal" chocolate you can buy almost anywhere in Switzerland, that has probably some of the best standards in the world... and there is the general knowledge of educated specialised pâtissiers who can make their own chocolate. These specialised people are spread all over the world - but there's a high rate in Switzerland, and this chocolate is excellent, too. These kinds of self-made chocolate would be similar in Switzerland, France, Belgium, etc. But they can't be compared in fact.
