Help answer this question below.
I can type without looking at the keyboard......EXCEPT for numbers.
I never did master the numbers on a keyboard. the reason is all the other signs, above a number. somehow, in my mind, i believe i am going to strike a dollar sign for the number 4 and so on.
See? i had to look down to strike the number 4.

Yes, and I still switch t and y; b and n; o and p; and k and l. It took me two minutes to type this answer. I even took typing in HS.
ptrask, I call you that already.
I have to look fairly often. I've never taken a typing class but I do all right with my 4 finger method.
yes I do, even though I do not need to anymore, as I know all the keys with barely any mistakes! (i.e. I typed this rather slowly without looking!)
Yes. I type confidently and get all of the letters, though by no means in the right order.
Yes, though not as fast as I can with it. I learned touch-typing in high school (over 20 years ago), but the extra keys on a computer keyboard tend to throw me sometimes, especially those I don't often use.
not teddible well!
No.
No, as a programmer, I can type using any of the characters on my keyboard w/o looking. I learned to touch-type when I was 12, and the other characters just came along naturally as a result of programming.
No, I've been a programmer for over 20 years.
I'm typing this right now without looking. But, see, I forgot where the 'H' key was so I had to look.
Generally I'm much faster when looking a tthe keyboard.
Yes. But only when I do the awkward keys like [ or =.
yes. of course. then again ive been online for about 5 years now.
Only if the letters do not include asdf, or jkl;
hahah.
Nope I almost never look at the keyboard except when I'm typing symbols.
Nope. I can type 55 wpm.
No. But I probably should!
i always used to look at the keyboard but after about 1 year i dont need to anymore , i only need to look at it for things like @ , : , ~ , # you know that stuff , lol
yes and no. I know most of keys but I make mistakes
Yes.
Nope
the screen becuase your eyes read the lines and your brain desides weather your lines are right from another kind of view besides the sight sense in human is stronger than the touch sense
when i type i look at my fingers i can't see the keys but I know where they ain't
I glance at the keyboard to place my fingers, then look at the screen. Sometimes I don't look at the keyboard until I see my fingers are off where they should be. ;-)
The screen. It is much more difficult to type if you look at the keyboard.
Comfortably..Yes :)
Of course, its just that no one would understand what I said, including me.
EDIT: Unfortunately whoever decided this was the same question as what I answered originally has now made my answer complete nonsense. Cest la vie.
Yes, but no as fast as when I look at the keyboard. :)
Yes, but I usually have to glance at my hands to get the numbers correct.
Ciutsr U cab. can;t uio>
It depends on what keyboard I'm using. If I'm using mine in my room then I don't look. But if I'm using one at school or anywhere else, I have to look for the first few minutes of typing then once I'm comfortable I don't have to.
This is a rather interesting question. My wife touch-types about 50 wpm, and I use the biblical method (seek and ye shall find) and do about 25 words per minute. However, once she spends the time to go back and correct the errors that I have corrected in the process of typing, she is not that much faster than me. However, I do envy her ability to use the computer in the dark. If I come down in the middle of the night and want to check email (or AnswerBag) I have to turn on a light and she doesn't.
I can use the number pad without looking, having over 15 years experience in accounting.
No. I took touch typing in high school in the early 80s, and spent two years mastering keyboard drills (not unlike doing piano practice drills). I'm faily accurate with the numbers without looking, but not as good as just letters. Periods, commas, apostrophes are no problem. Depending on what kind of day I'm having, I can type anywhere from 50 wpm to 70 wpm.
a have to a little bit, but i just glimpse so im sure where the letters are and my accuracy is good
ooohhh!!!... thtz awesum whn sum-one duz tht... me can jus type gibrish whn me duznt luk at the keybord... :(... peace!!!
I look at the screen. And can back space if I need to correct a spelling error if needed. I never look at the keyboard. Fun question! +5
the screen i type +80 if i look down i do screw up !
No. I never look at the typewriter keyboard when I type, except very rarely for numbers and a little less rarely for typographical symbols.
Chevalier Daniel C. Boyer
sure.
Yes, I never look at my keyboard to type.
Yes, I'm a touch typist.
i can but i dont
Yup, I can. But I have to look for symbols and numbers.
Yep, I usually look at whoever is talking to me with a blank face and keep typing as loudly as I can. I think they get annoyed :P
Sometimes...
When it is dark and I don't get my fingers in the right place, it can be kind of hard to get them in the proper postion, but once I do, it is normaly quite easy.
AIM really is a good way to learn.
but of course - otherwise I couldn't type so fast, can you?
hardly
Yes. But how do you know I'm not luing...I mean lying...hee hee....
Yeah. Its easy once you get the hang of it.
