  • 1st. God didn't lead you to a church. I don't know who or what did but I know it wasn't god. 2nd. Again I don't know what your "burn" was, but I am willing to bet it was people that burned you. 3rd. Would you close your eyes and walk onto a busy highway trusting god to guide you? You shouldn't, he/she/it doesn't exist. Trusting something fictitious, like Puff the Magic Dragon or god can set you up to be taken by people who do so professionally and it can be dangerous. - Please take the opportunity to consider, thoughtfully and with a truly open mind, your experience; the world; people; what god would have to really be like if he were all powerful; all that. People from your church or here at AB are likely to try and draw you back with promises of comfort and all that. Ignore them as a reformed alcoholic should ignore the invitations of his old bar buddies. - +5 and good luck.
  • You have no need for God in your life. If anything, religion slows down your intellectual evolution. Discover than the God you're searching for is infact yourself and you'll live the happiest life possible.
  • Go back to God within and leave organized religion behind. No one needs a 'church' to feel close to God. Worship in the way that feels most comfortable for you and don't worry about what other think.
  • It's the people who "burned" you. Why go back to God? Because He calls you to Himself in the Person and work of Christ. Christ Jesus is the best revelation of God you will get. (He is God in the flesh). He will give you the best idea of who God is, what He has done, and what He is like as well as what is the right response to Him. There are many times I have not done God justice in the way I have lived. Look to Jesus. (i.e reading one of the 4 gospels is a good place to start).
  • church is just a place to make a few people some money. for only $5 you can be healed today.
  • Well, why do you feel pressured to go back to him? It's not an obligation, IMO.
  • Cut yourself off from all religion. It was created by man with the motive of controlling people morally and financially. It's not God, it's man. God wants you to have his love. He doesn't want you to be FEAR motivated. Just accept the love. You don't have to do anything at all but take what he has to give you. It's hard for people to accept this because they have been so brainwashed that we have to suffer in order to receive divine grace. God only wants to GIVE not take. He does not need us. He made us because he WANTED TO DO IT. He wanted to love us, and watch us enjoy what he has to give. That is his joy.
  • You shouldn't. In fact, you've finally opened your eyes to the hypocricy that is religion. Congratulations!
  • Before you find God again, you need to develop a stronger sense of self. God doesn't make people do things, or lead people into situations to hurt them. God gave people free will and, through it, freedom to run their own lives to a certain extent. We may not be in control of all or even many of the things that impact our lives, but we usually do have choice. Recognize all the earthly things which led up to you entering that church, as well as all the things which led up to you being burned there. Recognize the human factor, including your own doing in the situation: your own (mis)interpretations, choices, and actions. Take responsibility for your mistakes and learn from them. (Perhaps much of what happened to you really was happening TO you and beyond your control, but a mistake can be as simple as not responding to a situation effectively, or not taking the time to understand what's going on around you before it's too late.) I'm not trying to blame you for your problems or cause you to feel guilty. I'm trying to empower you: mistakes are humiliating and painful but they're also universal, and they're opportunities for growth. If you believe that God can intercede in our lives, you should consider yourself an instrument, and instruments need to be tuned. God can't work through you or use you if you can't hear him, and you can't hear him if you don't first have a strong sense of self: who you are, what your strengths and weaknesses are, what you have done in your life, and what you want to do in the future. It's like, if God communicated by telephone you'd need to know how to work the phone before you talked to him. Well, you need to know how to work yourself before you can hear God talking to you.
  • mayby you need a break from organised religion for a bit.
  • God did not forsake u.....people are too naive....there are bad in every church , probably more bad than good...stay close...the personal relationship is all any of us really have anyway....we are supposed to go to worship and sing praises to HIM and help the people and the teacher help the poor, widowed and fatherless and to SPREAD THE WORD.. just remember, Jesus said "where 2 or 3 are gathered in MY NAME, I will be there also" ...u can read and reason on ur own and ask HIM to help u understand......it is obvious somehow they have made another Believer stumble and it is a bad thing....
  • you've never been away from Him. And He's never been away from you. He will put you in various situations so you can see what is not real as well as what is near and dear. God is with you in every step you take and knows you will make the right choice. Sometimes we can only learn from seeing what is not real. God is always as near as your breath and always there for you, and i promise you He will never desert you.
  • He did not lead you to any church because he does not exist.
  • There is no god so he didn't lead you anywhere. It was the people who invented god and continue to promote the delusion that burned you. Welcome to the real maybe now you have an idea of what those of use who don't subscribe to that madness are treated!
  • I'm curious what church you went to. So if you can let me in on that it would be great. Many people get the perception that as soon as they step foot into the doors of a church, all their problems go away. In a sense, it's true. Problems don't seem so big. But many believe that they will become millionaires, they will be loved by all, they will get a "trophy" wife/husband and many things that don't matter. A church is a house of worship to God. It's a place for believers to fellowship. It's a place I long to go. I don't know what happened to you, again, I would like to know what church and denomination it was. Actually take time to rethink the situation. God remains faithful. He doesn't make imprudent decisions and there are no reasons to lose trust in Him. Why should you trust God? Because without Him we are all miserable. I really hope it works out for you. You're in my prayers. God bless, angelzz.
  • You did it to yourself. How is God responsible? How is the church responsible? If you constantly blame others for your problems you might never find happiness.
