It's easy to play, and cheap compared to other sports like ice hockey (requires expensive equipment and nowadays artificial ice) and motor sports. This works perfect in poor countries like Brazil, everyone can't afford a Formula one car.

Its more fun than any other sport and because everyone in the world loves it. Its a difficult sport I mean kicking a ball between your feet down a huge field and trying to keep it from the other team while trying to make a goal into a goal post that is blocked by a great goalie...well you catch my drift the difficulty of the game interests people.

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world because its a older sport that was orginally cultural. It spread around the world to almost every country and everyone knows about it. Another reason is people just like to play. It's more known than a newer or a sport like baseball which is mainly the US. All the countries can unite to something they all know in soccer/football.

its the most popular because its so international. Having teams from all around the world play each other is really exciting. it shows a lot of faith and integrity for helping the world to get a long. soccer can do that. You can have a team of players that dont speak the same language understand what to do.
