  • I'd vote for the chaos theory.
  • Anytime there is a major catastrophe, a significant segment of humanity becomes lawless and predatory, taking care of itself by taking from other people.
  • Rather than speculate about humanity's response, I prefer to reflect on my own. I'll have to get back to you...
  • I think that overall, the rivalries and distrust between countries would force the world into disarray, regardless of what movies portray. the richer nations help others out in times of need but this is because they have to resources to spare, and arguably nedd to do this to satisfy public approval. But in a doomsday scenario I think that each would look after their own and there would be a lack of international cooperation. However on a more personal scale I think individuals would unite together. Though family and then friends would obviously come first, when people are in immediate danger, others in the imediate vicinity help each other out. If there was a flood say, and you have a raft, you woul probably give space to complete strangers who were lacking. Or there is a car crash and part of it is on fire, it would be human nature to help someone trapped inside get out. So I think a bit of both. Don't really want to put it to the test though.
