KEN PARK never came out in theaters in Montreal or on DVD. But i had the chance to see it at the NOUVEAU CINEMA FESTIVAL in october 2002. Having seen every other films from controversial director Larry Clark, i knew that this one will not be different from the others (KIDS, BULLY). KEN PARK is a real punch in the stomach, showing how a gang of skateboarders deal with life. Some scenes are really explicit (either with violence or sex or both) but this kind of stuff really exist in real life. So this kind of movie is important because it show life without any filters. A good movie, disturbing i know, but essential.

yeah, i have seen it and it is f*cked up. but in this real way. it is suburbia and young bored skater kids trying to make sense out of the complexity of life. i liked it and recommend it. i like larry clark but his films are not for people who don't want to actually think and see reality. it is entertainment but the kind that reflects a raw reality.
