  • Absolutely! I often carried a belt worn firearm when I was living in Arizona (up until July, 2005). I have since sold that weapon and don't carry one anymore, so I haven't checked out my local laws here in Oregon yet.
  • Sure, that is covered in "your right to bear arms" read the bill of rights! Each city/county/state has its limitations on what kind of weapons can be carried, but nonetheless, you have the right to bear arms.
  • shur can.how ever laws vary, like in some states concealed carry means just that, you cant show it. some states are opposit, must be able to be seen at all times.
  • Thats exactly what it means. But varies by state and city ordinances
  • Open carry means that you can have a firearm on your person so long as you make no effort to conceal it from plain sight. http://packing.org has everything you could ever want to know about carrying a firearm in public. Foxnews/AP ran a story about an 18 year old and his 15 year old brother who open carry wherever they go: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,274138,00.html
  • it means it is the only way to carry a weapon without a concealed carry permit. it must be in a holster or case in plain sight.
  • I have on an occasion walked into my bank branch while out hunting (down by Sorry Vistas, Az.)with my T.C. Shoulder Rig strapped to me, waited my turn in line chatting about the hunt & then had lunch & went shopping for stuff for the camp. No one thought anything unusual of it & all asked for meat! Used to be that we never went out without our means of self protection & if it were still that way there would be no robberies, rapes & muggings today! John
  • Open-carry, means carrying a Firearm in plain view (not covered up) as long as you have it in plain site it ok, in contrast if you have it covered (conseld- carry) you must have a permit to do so. ether way you cant bring it on Federal Bildings IE banks, public Schools, Courthouses, town/city halls..exc. Arizona has a law stating the cities/county/townships/and other forms of local government canot override State and federal laws. thus you dont have to worry about crossing city or county lines This is For the State of Arizona
  • It's not really accurate to refer to open-carry 'laws', as they really don't exist, per se. It's more accurate to say that there are no laws AGAINST open carry. There ARE laws, however, which govern where you may not carry a firearm if you are not some kind of law enforcement personnel, or other special circumstances. Typical places are bars or other establishments which serve alcohol, schools, banks, certain public buildings like courts and so forth.
  • In some states, yes.
  • yes, open carry means exactly what it sounds like.If you are a non-prohibited person from owning a pistol. You may in fact walk around in public with it in a holster, loaded or not. However, there are certaqin areas you may not bring that firearm, and they will be and are well posted as such. Also remember that open carry does tend to draw alot of attention from law enforcement officials, and they may stop you to ask why you carry a gun on you,if it is loaded and for your I.D. to run a quick search to see if you are a prohibited person from even owning or being around a gun.Always check with your local sherriff's office before you do carry to get the specific's of your area in wich you live. But yes,it is a constitutional right that should be used by the people alot more than it is currently.I carry openly everytime I leave the house, and so does my wife and other realitives. We live in Colorado though,it's a pretty tolerant state as well.
