  • No I cannot.
  • Mars Hill is not a city in Indiana. Its a neighborhood. And not a nice neighborhood at that. Well, on one side of the railroad tracks is ok, but the other side is worse. Why do you ask?
  • These days it's an economically depressed, mostly blue collar, and low income area with poor schools, paltry infrastructure, frequent crime, and is down wind from the landfill, slaughterhouse, and Chrysler engine plant (you ever smell burning coke?!). It is also the place of my fondest childhood memories and was much safer, cleaner, single family neighborhood from the 1930's - early 1990's. Back in the day, you could let your kids play in the streets without any fear of the getting into more trouble than a scrapped knee, and could get a solid education at one of the local schools (A.L. Sanders, Stout Field, or South Wayne), buy all of your groceries at the local market (Arzmann's) and not worry about locking your doors at night. These days....not so much.
  • is it out this world? sorry, i couldn't help myself. never heard of it. Similar to 8 Mile (Michigan)?
  • Mars Hill is a low income area near the airport on the southwest side of indy. In the past it has always had a reputation for being ruff and tumble, but it does have a lot of good hardworking people. The city has always neglected Mars Hill. No storm sewers so the streets flood and the sidewalks are crumbling. But wait we have all the Indiana State Police you need just drive down Troy Ave and you will get the opportunity to meet one of our men in Blue. One of the poorest neglected neighborhoods in Indianapolis and what do we get State Police writing tickets every day ! We get nothing from the City even though we pay taxes just like everyone else. So when the economy is bad pray on the poor who have no resources to defend themselves and generate revenue through traffic tickets. Knowing that not one dime will ever be spent in Mars Hill !!
