you need a new ignition switch it runs 140.00 new and is not that hard to install three screws under colom to remove top and bottom plastic steering wheel cover the there are three black screws holding the ignition switch in place the here is the hard part you need a hammer and a long flat head screwdriver because the 2 gold bolts on top of steering colum you have to hold the driver at an angle then hit it with the hammer to start unscrewing the screws once you get the 2 off under neath the steering colum there are 2 plugs unplug them then install the ne ignition switch .........when installing the new one the screws that you hit with he hammer take a hack saw to it making a notch like a flat head in it that way you can screw it back in ,,,
and by the clutch on the floor there is a fuel shut off switch open it and make sure it is pressed down......as for the key not coming out the tumbler might be stuck if it is an auto make sure it is in park because if it is not in park the key will not come out....

You're reading My 2002 ford escort will not start at all and the key will not come out of the ignition. what do i need to do to fix this. there is no sound when i turn the key. ive tried to jump the car but IF it starts it eventually just turns off!!! help please! :)
