  • who wants to sacrifice their favorite practices??? chances are we will keep on doing it
  • because we are to lazy and greedy to stop
  • Everything we do causes some level of pollution. It's all a matter of degree, isn't it? Breathing, for example, takes in oxygen and releases CO2. And CO2 is considered a pollutant by the EPA. So, in part, we pollute because we cannot agree on how much pollution is ok. Some would say "No level of pollution is acceptable except zero" ... can't be done. We also pollute because we have the often conflicting need to earn a living, entertain ourselves, take care of our property, etc. These activities all cause pollution to some degree. We can't quit, but we can cut down quite a lot. The Earth does have some ability to absorb our pollutants and convert them into non-harmful things, so if we can keep our global output of pollution below that limit, humans will be able to survive a lot longer.
  • because it is free!!!!!
  • I don't want to. YEEEEAAAHHHH litter!!!
  • Because we have to breathe.
  • Maybe because we are consumers. We are here to consume all that we can and do so until it is used up. Have yo not seen Wal-E?
  • More people believe that someone else is the problem, if they even acknowledge that it exists. It's a known fact that people don't always act in their own best interest.
  • I just drove by two teens that tore up a Styrofoam cup and threw it on the ground. It is hard to fathom why people cannot "do the math" and imagine what life would be like if we all took that disrespectful approach. But it is just as bad to stand by and watch without taking action. Unfortunately safety issues prevented me from turning around and asking them your question!
  • cause we like to play dirrrrrrrrty!
  • Because our greedy an selfish thinking ! Because we don't think to stop polluting ! Because we don't took that seriously !
  • ignorance and greed.
  • The only way that you can stop polluting is to go and live in caves, like Ben Laden!
  • We're filthy scumbags.
  • The USA has done a great job of reducing pollution, though there is still a lot to be done. The once very polluted rivers in cities like NY, Boston and Pittsburgh now have a wide variety of fish and wildlife. One thing still to be done: In most US cities, when it rains a lot, the city's floodwaters mix with the sewage and go straight into the rivers, bays and oceans. This MUST be stopped.
