    The term Wiccan applies to a follower of the religion of Wicca, while the term Witch applies to someone who pracises to art of Witchcraft.
    Wiccans can be witches, and Witches can be Wiccans, but someone does not necessarily have to be both. They could be one or the other.

    I think witch is a word to describe someone who practices any form of magic that is accepted by the world by its definition, whether they believe in it or not. It's a convenient word used universally.
    A Wiccan is a witch who practices Wicca, and call themselves as such so we know what form of magic they're into, and the spirituality and all.

    I guess it gets confusing, since necromancy or soothsaying might not exactly be magic, so who knows if the proper term for them is "witch". Unless it has to do with Paigan beliefs only? Actually you know what, I have no idea ha ha.

    Wiccan is the name of a philosphy practiced by those who believe that nature has its own spirits. It's not the movie witchraft you see so often portrayed on screen. There is no devil worship or sacrifice.

    A white witch would describe someone who practices spells for good. It's more a pop term than an actual description, but it would apply to one who tries to better herself, others or the world through productive spells and practices.

    a highly debated question .. but most will agree .... a witch does magic ,,, a pagan worships or honors nature deities ,,,,, a wiccan does both .

    Wiccans follow one of the Pagan belief systems, or Paths as we Pagans call them.
    A Witch does not have to be Wiccan, but Wiccans and Witches, along with Heathens, Odinists and Druids, are all Pagans.
    One does not have to be a Witch to be Wiccan, any more than they have to be Wiccan to be a Witch.
    It's a bit like Catholics and Protestants, only without the killing each other bit.

    I guess a good parallel would be:
    Wiccan::Christian
    Witch::Televangelist Faith Healer

    Is that about right?

    A Wiccan also has God's of it's own as well depending on what you believe they also seem to think the have a power with nature, that they are one and can control it

    A witch is like a healer in a sort of way ,but they are believed to posses magic powers and make potions of all sorts

    This is all I've collected so far to my knowledge

    wiccan is more of a nature based religion...witchcraft is considered to be the more dark evil twin sister

    Wicca and witchcraft are two sister "dark arts" they are usually indistinguishable from the other when you look close to their knowledge. witchcraft seems to have a darker side by just a slight bit but wiccans can have their own. +3

    Witch is the term once used to describe a follower of the wiccan/pagan belief. during the salem witch trials it became derogatory term for pagans. many wiccans still carry the title "witch" with pride

    How about

    The difference between the terms Wiccan and Witch lies within each individual practitioner to define for themselves and we embrace the freedom to do so.
