  • If your employer has a personnel department, you could ask there. If your job function is represented by a collective bargaining agent (e.g. a union) ask a representative. If your employment is covered by some other contract, you may have to read it. You can certainly read the information at the DOL site: http://www.dol.gov/esa/regs/compliance/whd/fairpay/main.htm and see if any of it applies to you. As a general rule, if you work in a "blue collar" job: no change. If you are in an office or sales job and made over $250 a week before the rule change, you were already exempt from the DOL overtime rules. If you make over $455 a week, you are still exempt. There are other changes, but this covers most of them. Your state's rules may over-ride the federal regulations, so you will just have to do some investigation.
