  • NO, her cycle will run its course whether she is bred or not. She will be coming in for a week, in a 'standing heat' for a week, and going out for a week. Some females will stand for breeding until almost the last day of the cycle. It usually takes 62-63 days for a litter to be born. You didn't say what kind of dog you have, and if you bred her deliberately or not. If it's been a month, she should be showing signs by now, unless it's a very small litter. If you had her bred, you should write the date on the calendar. Then you'll know when to expect her to be showing, and whether you need to contact the owners of the stud dog for a return breeding.
  • You should take her to the vet to see if she is pregnant.
  • Debbiejensen.com you can look for canine pregnancy calendar and it will give you a time schedule for the details of pregnancy (ie when she should start showing) My dogs do stop their heat cycle abruptly after a successful breeding but they are all a little different. This though does not mean for positive your dog is pregnant.
