I've only had MS Word 2007 for about 3 months and it certainly takes getting used to, but I love it. The menu is driven by its ribbon and so some of our old keystroke combinations don't work, but there are other positives that should be taking into account. In no particular order, there is a slide bar on the bottom right of the screen that allows you to increase/ decrease the view/zoom of the page. That's very helpful.
My particular favorite feature is the Insert Shapes area. It almost makes this as easy as drawing diagrams (or whatever) in powerpoint. Your header/ footer choices are easy to get to. And overall, I like having all my formatting viewable from my main screen (which it is if you have the Home tab chosen at the top while you type.)
I have MS Word 2007 and I still learning how to work it. All things need upgrades after sometime. You just have to get use to the upgrades
I still use my Word 2000 program because it is way more functional with less bullshit all over the screen. SOmetimes things do not need upgrades, just like Rocky Road Ice cream, Guinness Draft beer, Jack Daniels Whiskey, a naturally beautiful woman, mom's apple pie, and Microsoft Word 2000. Leaving some things alone is sometimes the best move.
I haven't bothered upgrading beyond Office 2000 because there haven't been any upgrades that have been important enough to justify spending the money.
Many new features are now included on MS Word 2007. One that I like a lot is that once you have a written page, you can browse through the different fonts and the page you printed will automatically change to the fonts you are browsing.
Saving a Word document as a PDF file
I was very reluctant to start using Office 2007 but once I got use to it I find it to be MUCH better than the previous versions. I like being able to see the formatting changes quickly but if I don't find one I like I just click back in my document and they all disappear. Now I find it hard to work in older version. I even forgot how to change the margins in Office XP.
I also love the mini toolbar that shows up after I have selected text. It allows you to make formatting changes without going to the top of the window.
I tried using Word 2007, but I didn't find it very intuitive. I went back to 2003. Someone will have to drag me away kicking and screaming!

You're reading Does MS Word 2007 actually have features that you find useful (that you can't find in MS Word 2003)?
