I guess it depends. If you're in a relationship with this person...why are you leading them on. If it's taking you a while to warm up to them maybe because of your past, talk to them about it. Don't keep them guessing all the time.

It's best to be upfront and honest even at the risk of hurting their feelings. The worst thing you can do is lead someone on to believe there is a chance that things can change in the future. If you aren't interested in pursuing a relationship just tell them something like while I am flattered that you feel that way I am sorry but the feelings aren't mutual and I don't think they ever will be so it's best if you just move on and find someone else to love.
