Mutts! They make the best pets and have less health problems! Its always better to adopt. Why buy a 300 dollar pet and breed more into the world when so many are homeless in shelters.

I will take a Husky:]

I would honestly agree that Mutts ARE better pets, because they do not inherit many of the purebreed mother/ fathers characteristics, behavioral problems, health issues, etc... Purebreed dogs should only be bred unless you plan to use them for a purpose, like showing them. Many people over-breed their dogs, merely just for the money, when so many of these animals eventually go uncared for, and in a shelter. Shelter animals tend to be more shy, and aggressive at times, because of possibly being located from home to home, or shelter to shelter, and this affects the dog's behavior. Adopting is the best method of getting an animal, especially when they are really young. I always recommend spaying/neutering your pets, to help stop so many helpless animals from being born and then not being cared for, or abused and mistreated- Make the right decision.

I've always loved huskys and malamutes, based on appearance alone. I've had mutts before too. It's hard not to fall in love with puppies or dogs in need of a good home. I wouldn't restrict myself to buying a particular dog. It's all about personality.

I love all dogs and have both mutts and pure breds and in my whole life I have gotten dogs from kennels, rescues and once from a breeder (my Beagle). I think mutts are great and so are pure bred dogs. I can't really pick a favorite breed but it is a tie between the Labrador Retriever and the American Pitbull Terrier and the Beagle. The dog in the photo is one of my mutts. I got her and her sister from Labrador rescue. They are mixed with Great Dane. I got my male Pit from Animal Control adoption center, my Collie and Beagle came from a breeder.

Bullmastiff is my favorite breed, but I have owned several great mutts during my life :)

I love Saint Bernards. I owned one. When I get my next it will be from a rescue.

I love Newfoundlands and since the late 70s, have always had 1-4 of them. We have re-homed or rescued a couple of them but most we found through good conscientious breeders who bred for health and soundness, with all the vet checks and great nutrition to make a healthy well-tempered pet. Usually we are put through a tough interview process because these breeders really care where their pups go and if you understand well how to take care of these dogs. They always have a 100% take back policy so if anything happens, they are willing to take back the pup/dog and see to it's needs. They stand behind their breeding that much. They don't want to see their pups go to shelters or end up as some breeding stock at a puppy mill. I applaud their great care for these or any dogs.
