The anger tends to overpower any other feelings. The person simply wants to end the existence of the other. This is assuming that they do it in broad daylight. If they are more careful and intend to cover up the murder, then they don't shoot them in the leg because they'd probably alert the police.

I think that sometimes people who do not have control over their emotions can cross a line that we are not meant to cross. They lose all control in an area where we have never been and all reasoning ceases to exist. I do believe people black out in rage or trauma and they do things they probably never thought themselves capable of but they get caught up in the moment and normal is not recognized because they are feeling way more than they can deal with. There are some people who believe respect to be the highest standard to be shown and given and if they feel they have been disrespected to a point they find unforgiveable.. they feel the other person deserves to die. Some people do think we should have the freedom to kill under such circumstances. I do not personally think this way or even understand how another could.. but they do. I could not imagine killing anyone but I have known a person who told me it was the ultimate thing and they scared the beejesus outta me because they had no qualms about killing someone if they stole from them or something. Some people just outright cross the lines of humanity and do not come back. I think they become so desensitized, they are no longer human.. they just look like one.

A killing committed in anger is not thought out in advance, with all the nuances. It is a one time outburst of rage.

have you ever had a murderous rage, most of the time those thoughts don't enter the mind the clearest prerogative is the death of the betrayer.
