First off...this breed leans heavily towards being VERY FAMILY oriented...they LOVE their home folks a lot.
Some are friendly towards others, and some are not as out-going towards strangers, but are not overly aggressive, which to be honest...is not a bad way to be!
You don't want to encourage a companion animal that comes into contact with "strangers" (friends visiting) to be AGGRESSIVE...that's the best way to get sued and be forced to either have your dog put down (killed) or forced to take extreme measures (such as not being allowed to walk your dog (on lead) in public!)
While a dog can not rationalize and think like a human does...they have canine smarts! A dog can SMELL (in a sense) what we are thinking....that is...when we are angry or stressed (such as someone will an ill intent might be...getting ready to do something they SHOULD NOT DO) we give off scent that reflects what is going on in our brains...
A dog will often act or react to this smell we give off in a way that would WARN YOU..that there is something that smells WRONG about THIS PERSON.
If your dog lives inside of the house with you and your family...then your home is this dog's "territory," you and your family is this dog's "pack."
From a dog's point of view...you PROTECT YOUR SPACE AND YOUR PACK against any outsiders who could threaten the safe sanctuary of home and pack.
But a smart dog, understands that acting aggressive "all the time" is a waste of energy. You don't get your curly tail in a knot over every single person who enters the home....especially if your PACK LEADER...(that would or should be YOU) has invited or indicated that the "stranger" friend, is WELCOME to enter the space.
Your dog learns to take cues off of you and the family.
If you are fearful of something, or someone...the dog is very likely to react to it...(remember you will smell fearful to the dog, if you are afraid!)
If you want to really support your dog understanding that YOU and the family are the source of all good things...consider doing two things...
Training. And I'm not talking training the dog to be AGGRESSIVE.....I'm talking about OBEDIENCE training...teaching the dog to have GOOD MANNERS...using positive reinforcement as your method.
http://www.doggiebagonline.com/ (lots of support here for +R training) When we take the time to train our dogs to be quick to respond to BASIC COMMANDS..sit, come, lay down, back up, stay, go to...(the door, the crate, your bed) we are also training the dog to react quickly to our CUES in general.... we are "accidentally" also teaching them to WATCH US, PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT WE SAY AND DO...and by using positive reinforcement (praise and treats...and by the way...as you indicate...a HUSKY is VERY treat motivated! as a rule, most of them are!) we are showing them WHY listening, watching and responding correctly is such a great idea!
Also, feeding a Species Appropriate diet of Raw Meats 80%, Bones 10% and Organs 10% may help.
Because this diet is considered (by your dog) to be a very, very HIGH VALUE....(in addition to also being the correct diet for him...digestively dog is a wolf and there are NO kibble trees in nature!) it encourages the dog to see YOU as the Pack leader in some ways...YOU are providing the HIGH VALUE MEALS!
Cooked meats have lost some of their nutritional value, so why ruin a perfectly good chunk of PERFECT food?
COOKED BONES are DANGEROUS...they tend to splinter into sharp shards...
RAW BONES are safe (as long as they are not bones used to hold up and support a large animal...like leg bones!) Those weight baring bones are too dense and can crack teeth! We raw feeders call them WRECKER BONES!
Raw chicken bones are the SOFTEST bones of all, and a dog's pointy teeth and strong jaws simply MASH them to pulp!

I get a lot of FREE meats from posting WANTED ads on my local Freecycle and Craigslist too...sometimes A WHOLE LOT OF FREE MEAT! So in addition to saving money at the Vet's (because my dogs and cats are healthier) I NOW save money because I feed this diet on the FOOD itself! win/win!

Lastly...even a SHY somewhat fearful dog, will usually serve as a most excellent EARLY WARNING SYSTEM for someone suspicious...who might not be a WELCOME guest on your property or in your home...it is the nature of dog to warn off someone will bad intentions...
You might be very surprised at how far your dog would go..to protect you all...if "push came to shove."
