  • Cannot answer as you have not stated which day of the week is the first day (as that can increase the number of mondays) and whether the first year is a leap year or not (as this will influence the number of days that exist).
  • It depends the year in which you start counting and how soon in the first week you encounter the first Monday. In a regular year, there are 52 weeks + 1 day. So, in a normal year that starts on a Monday there will be 53 Mondays, if it does not start on a Monday, then there will be 52 Mondays. Leap years have 52 weeks + 2 days. So, you can have 53 Mondays in one of these years if either the first or second day of the year is a Monday. Rather than trying to count the Mondays up for myself, I constructed an Excel spreadsheet that would do it for me. For the 52 year period starting Monday 1 January 2007 there will be 2401 Mondays. If you started counting at the beginning of this year (2008), then there will be 2400 Mondays in the next 52 years. ------------ bingobongo - First Bard of Kevonia wrote, "Glenn, perhaps I'm missing something, but surely 52 weeks with 52 Mondays is a minimum. So 2704 is a minimum - yet you have 300 less than that...??" Ok, I have checked my figures again. It looks like I made a major error in either my calculations or in transcription. I have recreated the spreadsheet twice now and I get 2714.

I'm sorry that wasn't very nice. I've been up over 30 hours and I don't like being told what to do but you're probably right I'll check back tomorrow I just couldn't go to sleep until I apologize for being mean

2713.2277714. And thank you for correcting me. Have a great day!
  • roughly speaking it's 52 years times 52 weeks (mondays) in a year = 2704. So I don't know how anyone gets 2400.

See my answer. You can't simply go with 52 week times 52 years. This is because a year is NOT exactly 52 weeks long. 7 times 52 = 364 days. However, the year is 365 days. So, there is an extra day rotating through there. In addition, every 4th year is a leap year. So, that is going to ad even more days to the calculation. Thus, then final answer that I gave of 2714 Mondays. (See my answer.)

Sorry I posted that comment on the wrong answer.

      Ok.there are technically 365.2422 days in a year so x 52/7 is 2713.2277714
