How do I remove the front door panel on a 2001 Tacoma to check door lock actuator?

Will the other 3 door locks work if I disconnect one door?

    Yes,once you disconnect the connector to the door controls,But you can test the doors out with the panel hanging free leaving the electrical connected.
    There are door clips that pop out all around the door. You will need a wide flat bladed screwdriver,stiff putty knife or the actual door tool sold at the auto stores (cheap). Do this SLOWLY and with even pressure until you hear a pop.

    Inside the door handle well is a phillips head screw,remove the screw and slowly remove the handle assy,there is a rod attached to it that you will have to disconnect with a small flat bladed screwdriver.
    Lift the panel up and out. Be careful of the three quick desconnects for the tweeter speaker,power mirror control and finally the window/door lock controls.
    Once you expose the inside of the door you'll find that the window frame blocks access to the lock assy. Two fasteners hold the frame, once removed you will have complete access. The lock assy costs about 300 dollars at the dealership and about 225 on-line...GoodLuck!
