"For God so LOVED the world, that He GAVE His only begotten Son . . .". Christ loved us unconditionally, and because of this love, He shed His blood, covering our sins with His love in His blood.

Some think that one person's love can blot out another person's sin. The only love that can cover sin in that sense, is the love of Jesus Christ. His love led him to the cross, where he shed his blood that sins repented of might be blotted out (Mtt 26:28, Jhn 3:16, Acts 3:18-19, Rev 7:14). Your love and my love has no power to blot out sin, or to modify the conditions under which any person's sin may be forgiven. Only the blood of Jesus can blot out sin.

It means confidentiality. Gossip is rampant. In fact, it is a negative trait that has been in force for centuries. If there is something "juicy" to share, many individuals don't care who they hurt. Love cares. It is long-suffering, patient, and kind. It bares all things, and hopes for all things. It doesn't seek evil, or rejoice in sin (1 Cor. 13). It is the antithesis of gossip. Applied then, love covering sin would be someone who knows the bad things someone has done, but doesn't use their knowledge to hurt that individual.

This is referring to our relationship with other believers -- if we have fervent love for one another, we will not be quick to take offense, and we will be eager to forgive one another. It's like looking at the brethren through "rose-colored glasses" - helping us to see the good they are doing and trying to do, and not being easily upset with one another if they mess up from time to time. We are not to be "onion skin" Christians and assume that others are doing something on purpose to irritate us. This is NOT telling us to overlook deliberate sins committed by a brother or sister - if they are follower of Christ, they do need to be reminded that they are to take up their cross, daily, and follow Christ and His example. It doesn't have anything to do with salvation - that comes only from obedience to the gospel message of Christ, so that his blood sacrifice can cover your sin and allow you to enter into God's perfect heaven.

It's not you who is confused, chill any god whose 'word' can have more than one 'interpretation' must be full of BS. * It shows you have seen through the god-con and are ready to move on the the adult [atheist] world. * WAKE-UP CALL: [Babble. Genesis-Evolution: 51:1-2] "Faith is something that is indoctrinated into you when you were young, vulnerable, dependent and defenceless. It was no short of child-mind-rape & religious-blackmail. It is atheism that evolves and grows over time as a person ‘grows up’ and ‘grows out’ of childhood superstitions, like tooth-fairy, Easter bunny, Santa Claus, Tom & Jerry, angels, spirits, jinn, vampires, werewolves, elves, gremlins, imps, ogres, demons ...and gods! [They all were AWESOME when one believed in them!] “Wakey, wakey, rise and shine! You were 'born' atheist, and have been 'raised' to your present belief. Your ‘pre-set’ default belief-status has always been of ‘rational atheism’. * You NOW have a ‘free choice’ to 'grow up' and 'grow out' of superstition and enjoy a guilt-free, ethical-moral & successful ('GEMS') life. ...or to carry on as you are. The gain or loss is yours.

Why do you think the quote is from the Bible? I am not sure that it is. Do you have a book/chapter reference?

Proverbs can help clairify. 11:13 A talebearer revealeth secrets:but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. 17:9 He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;but he that repeateth a matter separateth friends. 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing;but the honor of kings is to searchout a matter. It is also written that mercy triumphs over judgement. Through Jesus our multitude of sins are covered over. In like matter the Bible urges us to not bring to light things that cause strife needlessly. Some wrongs need to brought to justice which is why it is a kings honor to search out matters, but not all wrongs needs to be publicly displayed. If it's just causing more trouble by bringing matters to everyones attention then don't.†††

My Understanding of that scripture is of 1 Corinthians 13:1-8,13. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. When we truly love the way Jesus loves, we will treat our brothers and sister different way. We will learn to be more supportive and patience with one another. We will do what Jesus did with the woman caught in adultery John 8:1-11. But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" "No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin." Jesus never embraced her sin, but loved her unconditionally. Remember, Romans 3:23, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Another example is what Jesus said while being at the cross Luke 23:32-34 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Romans 5:8 ,But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Love people enough to pray for them when they've hurt you or disappointed you. Love people enough to embrace them when they are at their lowest pit. Luke 6:27-36 But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. 33And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. You are only able to do those things when LOVES COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SINS. Be blessed and let the spirit of God minister to your heart.
