There is an injured coyote out in our field, should some sort of animal control be called or would they just put it to sleep?

  Is there any proof that coyotes prey on cattle or other large livestock? I've seen a lot of coyote scat and it usually just contains mouse bones and rabbit fur, both small animals. Yet cattlemen and ranchers in this part of the world routinely kill them.
