  • No, they will try to diagnose the medical condition you claim to have. They will probably quickly find out that you just want out. You can try to get transferred where you might like it better. Until then, keep your eyes and ears open and explore your opportunities.
  • Military personnel who tell their superiors that they are having "suicidal tendencies" will be evaluated by a psychologist. If the psychologist finds out that you were lying, you will be charged as a criminal. If the psychologist believes you, you can be given a General discharge, which is not the same as an Honorable discharge. That can be a problem when you leave the military and look for a job. If you actually attempt suicide, you will be charged under the uniform code of military justice, and receive a General discharge if found unfit to continue service.
  • They will send you to be evaluated, after that, If they believe your mentally unstable you'll be medically discharged. When I was in Iraq, I never met a Marine that "wanted" to be there, But we put our personal feelings about the war aside, and did our jobs. Not a day went by that I wasn't afraid. The only thing that scared me more than dieing, was leaving my boys to die without me.
  • no you cant just say it. you have to committ suicide, then they let you out. you can get the death sentence if you commit suicide in the usa. its not allowed. the military hears the suicidal garbage day in and day out. people are in the military. people dont get out for any reason. anyway, clearly a person who thinks he is suicidal definitely isnt. its the person who is totally depressed and alone and doesnt talk to anyone about their problems.
  • No, they'll probably just send you to a remote part of Fallujah and leave you alone for a few days.
