Question

Help answer this question below.

I sleep great on my own. When I sleep with my partnet I find that I fall to sleep fine and stay asleep for 3-5 hours, but after I wake I only doze for the rest of the night. I don't know why I can't get past the doze stage. Any suggestions?

I'd like to add that if Ive had a lot of caffeine during the day, even if I fall asleep easily when I initially lay down, it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to fall back asleep if I wake up... Just a thought to consider

I have found that sleeping with a solid black sleep mask (One with good coverage) helps me sleep much, much deeper than before! You could try that :-)

I have the same problem. I prefer the bedroom alot cooler than my boyfriend so when the window's shut I always wake up too hot, when it's open he complains about the cold. My last boyfriend snored loudly which used to wake me up,(he even woke himself up sometimes!) Anyway I reckon you try to find out what wakes you up and try to come to some sort of compromise, eg with my window problem at the moment, I now sleep on the side closest to the window and we have it open a jar, so that way I get the breeze and my body is sheltering him from the cold.
Or, just give him a kick and go home. ( I find this one most affective!)

I think for most couples this is mostly a matter of time. The body and mind get adapted to sleeping next to another person, with their rolling around, snoring, whatever.

One thing worth trying is to wear earplugs when you go to sleep. That blocks out most of their noises. You can take them out in the wee hours if you're awake enough, so you don't have them in all night -- they can make your ears a little sore.
