  • Try to think of different things before you fall asleep... Drink lots of water. Make sure youre fully at ease when you fall asleep, no stress or anger on your mind..
  • Nightmares can be caused by a variety of things but if you have been suffering for some time from a particular one it could be a symptom of trauma. Is there possibly some event from the past that disturbed you and that has not been resolved? You may need to talk with a therapist to get to the bottom of your sleep disturbances.
  • Might be worthwhile researching lucid dreaming. It won't come quickly or easily, maybe not at all. But if you can do it, what an experience.. take control of your dreams. Run a search for Stephen LaBerge
  • When you go to bed say to yourself you are going to stay focussed and face this problem. You can control the outcome even if it means closing your eyes again. In order for what ails you to go away you have to face it instead of running from it. Don't fear it fight it.
