They do NOT like rough terrain, the way a BMX or mountain bike DO ... also, the handle bars and seat pole slide easily with a quick flick and can be easily stolen, unless you tack weld a small bead so they jam at the extreme limit and can not be removed at all, ever ... a risky solution ...
Much harder to ride when it's folded up;)
I would guess they wouldn't be as stable as a complete welded frame bike. They also may be weaker. Don't hit a chuck hole, etc.
Well, you have to unfold those bikes.
