Help answer this question below.

My wife stopped taking the birth pill around May. Her periods became infrequent and she suffered bad mood swings, we are now getting divorced because we argued so much. she is back on pill and her moods are good and we dont argue. Can the pill cause this?

    The pill is a hormone cocktail that fools the body into thinking it is pregnant so that it won't release any eggs for fertilization. So, yes, it can really screw with her moods. There may be more to this though. Perhaps she was worried about becoming pregnant and this made her tense and unhappy? She needs to see her doctor about this specific type of occurance.

    In some women it can. If she wants to come off the pill then she should talk to a doctor about what happens when she does come off the pill and ways to avoid it.

    Actually I had the reverse happen. I had a lot of depression and crying binges etc. while on the pill. Stopped taking it and got better.
