Help answer this question below.
Thanks Stableboy
Hi. Stableboy emailed me, and asked me to answer this.
First of all, get a lawyer. You can ammend your filing to include your H paying for the lawyer.
The rest of the answer depends upon where you are. In order for me to be remotely helpful, you have to be in the US.
Generally, anything with a "preliminary" in the title (preliminary hearing, preliminary conference) will not have any type of resolution. It will be used to make sure discovery has been complete (all documents pertaining to the case/evidence has been turned over by both parties), what the claims are, and to schedule hearing dates. The judge or presiding officer may order additional mediation in order to attempt to reach a settlement. It depends entirely upon your jurisdiction.
.....
Its not clear: do you have an attorney? This is normally something you would ask him. If he has an attorney and you don't that's a real source for concern.
I've seen some of your other postings -- sorry I can't be more help. You might lookup AntigoneRising on this site, she has some experience in this area.
Good luck to you, anyway. More than happy to listen if that helps at all...

You're reading I am going to a Prelimiary Conference to settle my divorce after many unsuccessful attempts to settle peacefully by my husband. Can and will this meeting settle things or will there be more court appearances?
