How many rpm's do nascar engines turn on non restrictor plate tracks, because I have a friend that builds 355 cubic inch gm small blocks for circle track racing that turn 14,000 rpms so my question is why can't hendricks, dei, and all the others

Are you sure he doesn't have the tachometer set on the 4 or 6 cylinder setting? An engine thats turning that many RPM won't last long at all! Im not calling you a lyer buy any means but it's very rare for an american engine to turn that kind of RPM and last a full race. If I was you I'd check the tachometer and make sure it's on the V-8 setting and not the 4 or 6 setting.

There isn't an explicit RPM limit, but the gearing is normally set to restrict RPM to approximately 9500 or so regardless of the track.
