No....diesel engine oil has a high detergent level,necessary to aid in keeping the combustion chamber clean,and using it in a petrol engine dissolves carbon build-up around the tops of the pistons causing blow-by past the rings.This decreases compression and increases oil consumption. Can result in premature engine wear,leading to further problems.
