Why make such a big deal about what Rev Jesse Jackson said about Obama? Why does no one get as worked up with other comments that actually mean something, such as Pres Bush saying the Constitution is just a "God Damn piece of paper!"?

Because Bush's misstatements have become routine. Something said about Obama is news.

Because the mass media in the U.S. has been reduced to the level of reporting of the gossip rags one reads in the check out isle. People DO get upset about Bush's statements such as your example but it is not reported in the mainstream media. More and more people are turning to alternate sources of information for their news such as the internet and radio. The newspapers and MSM (mainstream media) television programs are becoming more like the tabloids: less informative and more for entertainment.

Yup, just about anything Jesse Jackson says doesn`t mean anything, why anyone would listen to that man is beyond me. I'd much rather listen to some real news than some tosh on what this man is up to.
