  • In my eyes Indisposed In disguise As no one knows Hides the face Lies the snake The sun In my disgrace Boiling heat Summer stench neath the black The sky looks dead Call my name Through the cream And Ill hear you Scream again Black hole sun Wont you come And wash away the rain Black hole sun Wont you come Wont you come Stuttering Cold and damp Steal the warm wind Tired friend Times are gone For honest men And sometimes Far too long For snakes In my shoes A walking sleep And my youth I pray to keep Heaven send Hell away No one sings Like you Anymore Hang my head Drown my fear Till you all just Disappear This is obviusly a song about accepting satan as your god. "Black hole sun come and wash away the rain." he telling satan to come and take us all to hell. when he talks about his youth he is refering to how he never told anyone how he felt. the sleep refers to him putting on a fake face and pretending to worship the loard. Hang my head Drown my fear Till you all just Disappear Try not to fear satan, make the song and get us the fans to be drawn into the the song and drawn into hell. He what he is saying. he also talks about looking to sky " trying to find god" but it remained quiet" neith the sky looks dead". so he turns to hell and he hears satan scream his name. he answers satan. In my eyes Indisposed In disguise As no one knows Hides the face Lies the snake The sun In my disgrace Boiling heat " in my eyes indisposed in disguise as no one knows hides the face lies the snake" he says basicly satan is inside of me and no one knows. the snake has sience adam and eve been representive of the devil. "boiling heat summer grows stench" he can sence hell coming closer. " the sun" or heavan in my disgrace. he says god should not be able to take credit for what i've done, he never helped me. In my shoes A walking sleep And my youth I pray to keep Heaven send Hell away No one sings Like you Anymore He is talking to his former fake youth self saying he does'nt speak the word of the loard anymore. This song should not be heard. it sounds so good i know but just like the apple tree in the garden of edan it is not to be touched even if the apple is juicy. the snake convinced eve to take a bit of the apple. in this case the devil has grabed hold of chris cornell and is through him the snake in the garden of the modern world. thx
  • The sun is actually a black hole...? also an awesome sound garden song :D
  • I love that song... The video is a bit disturbing, but in a good way.
  • Not much, I don't like staring at the sun, only at night .... ooops that's the moon!
  • It just goes in one ear and out the other.
  • nothing. No wait, they're something of opposites. Like death and life.
  • Chris Cornell had said before: "I sure didn’t have an understanding of it after I wrote it. I was just sucked in by the music and I was painting a picture with the lyrics. There was no real idea to get across." So, it's up to the listener to decide what the song lyrics mean. Personally, I think of the eponymous black hole sun being nothingness or destruction and the metaphorical "rain" as being depression. So, to me, the song is about self-destruction, that is, that the character is going through his life dealing with crippling depression and just wearing a fake smile whilst he hopes for nothingness to eventually sweep him up. I always interpreted the song that way, from the melancholy vocal delivery to the slow-tempo churning chorus, but I believe that Cornell's suicide probably told us that the narrator of the song was himself, and not some character. It's very sad, because I always felt that Cornell had a tremendous amount of musical talent. But a lot of people who are "extra" battle with these sorts of emotional demons.
  • Nothing, it just bores the ass off me.
